Lloyd Johnson, Lead Minister

Lloyd came to Moweaqua First Christian Church on January 1, 2009. He and his wife, Susan, have been serving in various ministries since they became Christians some 28 years ago. Lloyd had a long and successful career in the grain industry while he served as a teacher, elder, deacon, and in many other capacities in the churches he attended. Lloyd has a Bachelors degree in Leadership and Ministry from Johnson Bible College and is pursuing his Masters in New Testament Studies. Lloyd and Susan have three children, Angela, Bryan, and Rachel. Angela and Bryan each have their own families and have blessed Lloyd and Susan with four grandchildren: Kali, Kohlten, Kendrick, and Kaden. Rachel is a student at Johnson Bible College, majoring in Elementary Education and will graduate with a Masters in Holistic Education. Lloyd and Susan enjoy the empty nest and are looking forward to a long ministry at FCC Moweaqua. Lloyd's hobbies include reading, bicycle riding, and sharing his homemade ice cream.

Nathan Jesse, Worship Minister

Nathan came to FCC summer of 2007 to serve as our Worship Minister. Growing up in the Christian Church as a minister’s son, Nathan has been involved in every facet of ministry since childhood and understands the importance of worship in Christian growth. Nathan began singing with his parents as song evangelist when he was a child and has been actively involved since, from singing and playing with outreach teams while at EIU Christian Fellowship to singing and leading independently now. On July 1, 2006, Nathan married Mary Wills from Beecher City, IL. She was very active at the First Christian Church of Cowden, IL and was an organist and pianist there for approximately 20 years. Nathan came to Moweaqua after serving for 15 years at Findlay Christian Church Findlay, Illinois where he was leading worship. Nathan and Mary also served as evangelists at local churches for concerts and revivals

Ellie Ferguson, Children's Minister

Ellie is in charge of the Children’s Ministry (birth–5th grade) here at First Christian Church. Ellie has a passion to see kids grow in their own faith in Christ while having lots fun. Ellie believes that Children’s Ministry needs to constantly be moving in the same direction the kids are while remaining constant in the teaching of Bible truths. Ellie married her husband, Jayson, in 1992. They have three wonderful children, Brooklyn, Alex, and Jaycob. Ellie came to Moweaqua after serving as the Children’s Minister at Taylorville Christian Church. Ellie is proud to be a third generation minister. In her spare time, Ellie likes to spend time with friends and family, read (Mary Higgins Clark), scrapbook, watch TV, and walk.

Ryne Isaac, Student Minister

Ryne started August 9, 2009 at FCC Moweaqua working with the junior high and high school students. Ryne is from Clinton and fell in love with the local church as he grew up actively involved at his home church. His passion is to help students fall in love with Jesus through studying the Bible, serving and fellowship with one another. Ryne graduated from Lincoln Christian College in the spring of 2008 with a degree in General Ministry with an emphasis in Youth Ministry. He is engaged to Kate McKown and they will be married May of 2010. Kate is from Sullivan and is finishing her teaching degree at ISU. Ryne spends his spare time reading, watching sports and keeping in contact with his close friends.
